Affordable Facial and Manicure at NIC Spa!

Note: Post was sponsored but opinions expressed are completely my own

I was really lucky to be able to receive a purifying facial and manicure at The NIC Spa on Granville Street located in Downtown Vancouver.

Last week, I was invited to experience the super affordable NIC Spa in Vancouver. NIC Spa is a spa that was opened by New Image College, a training institution located in Downtown Vancouver for aspiring makeup artists, aestheticians, and more. The people who work at the NIC Spa are fully accredited grads from New Image College, with the purpose of providing them additional experience and opportunities to grow in their careers.

The menu at NIC Spa is simple yet specialized. It offers facials, massages, and manicure and pedicures. The price point? $20 for each type of service. Yes you read that right! I was invited to try out a facial and manicure. My entire service lasted just under 2 hours, and it would have cost me around $200-300 at another spa, but at NIC Spa it would only be $40 (plus tax and tip, of course).

The treatment rooms are essentially the treatment rooms used for classroom teaching, and there are a number of beds in one room, with curtains dividing each bed. It was definitely quiet, relaxing and private.

My aesthetician was Helen. The classic facial consisted of the following: eye cleanse, face cleanse, exfoliation, treatment, massage mask, hand and arm massage and lastly, a scalp massage. In particular, I think the exfoliator was effective - it is an enzymatic exfoliator for sensitive skin which prevents acne. It consists of papaya and pineapple extract that cleans your dead skin and leaves you with a nice glow.

She included the option of a lancet and extractions. Besides this, she also used a moisturizing mask, plus plenty of facial, neck, head, and shoulder massage. My skin felt clean after she left. I definitely enjoyed the incorporation of a purifying essential (ylang ylang) oil.

While the ambience is practical and does not exactly fit your typical definition of a luxury spa, it was definitely a fantastic value for $20 for each service. The value for money is definitely there, which is amazing in Vancouver where such services usually cost an arm or leg. I will recommend this spa to several of my friends and Instagram followers who are looking for an affordable service.

She also completed the gel nail services in around an hour. It was clean and efficient.

I highly recommend checking out NIC Spa, located conveniently downtown at:
