Have you ever dreamed of stepping into a painting, and seeing it come to life?

Celebrated for both his artistic practice and his persona, Van Gogh produced a substantial body of work that is both recognizable and renowned. The distinctive style of his popular paintings can be characterized by thick, painterly brushstrokes and a luminous color palette, the landscapes, expressive portraits, and vibrant still lifes have come to represent the artist.

Van Gogh’s art became astoundingly popular posthumously. His brushstrokes are widely recognizable and his fandom spans the globe. Personally, I have been to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, which houses an expansive collection of the famous artist’s works, narrating outstanding artworks and stories about the famous artist.

An experience that brings viewers to the heart of its images, Imagine Van Gogh is accompanied by the music of several great composers Saint-Saëns, Mozart, Bach, Delibes and Satie, which definitely elevates the experience.

I personally found it to be an interesting experience for art lovers, as it transformed Van Gogh’s art works into a more approachable and living version of his works. His art felt fascinatingly “alive”, and it felt a bit like I was breathing and living in an actual dream landscape. It really isn’t everyday that you get to enjoy this kind of a visually captivating experience, which is different from being in an art gallery due to how immersive it is, and the use of music, lighting and the use of Image Totale to amplify emotion and images. The breathing and living images, with its vivid lines, were true testament to the talent of the painter, and I thought it was a beautiful way to express mental illness. The show is a visual and musical adventure that offers an illuminating insight into Van Gogh’s painting and chromatic richness. I hope you enjoy the exhibit as much as I did if you go here!
